LOTS of PRs today — Bench Press, Deadlift and Amanda.
I was expecting some PRs, but not as many as we had in program today… Brandon and Johnathan PRd their Amandas by 4+ minutes. Brandon had the 3rd best time of the day at 4:41. A couple of 30 and 50# PRs on the deadlift, a lifetime bench press PR by Jeremy Thiel and lots of Amanda PRs (with some left in the tank).
It left athletes wondering how and why they could PR their deadlift and bench press even though we rarely do these movements in any kind of cycle like we might with the squat. Well, long story short, so many of the movements we do transfer into the deadlift and bench press. Story over.
Congrats on your PRs. De-load week and PR week has come to an end. If your off-season has started, assess where you are as an athlete and what your goals will be moving forward. I want to know where you want to be in 2 years, 1 year, and 6 months from now.
If you are training for regionals, your season has just begun. Forget everything that has happened up to this point, and get ready for some *training*.
