Some congratulations are in order…!

To our team: Karen, Carey, Lisa, Ingrid, Chelsea, Jeff, Brandon and Jeremy. You guys rocked it all weekend and came out on top. Time to train for the big dance.

To their (other) Coach and my partner in crime: Coach Jess Estrada! Jess was absolutely invaluable in the lead up to Regionals and during the Regional Competition. She was a source of ideas and inspiration, as well as a sounding board for mine. She gave critical insights at critical times, and helped prepare the team, Carey and Karen so that they could perform at their best. Thank you thank you thank you!

To their training partners, fans and CrossFit Central: You are an integral part of their success. GGRX: thank you for dedicating yourselves alongside them and for doing the Regionals WODs of the past 3 weeks 🙂 Thank you for traveling to SA to support, cheer and watch them. CC’s!!!

To their competitors: You fought hard and pushed them to be at their best. Congratulations to CF Katy and Ballistic CF — we’ll see you in Carson!

To my good friend and fellow coach, Spencer Arnold: Congrats brother! We’ve been through a lot and seen a lot. Every experience, competition, training session, seminar and book has been a small step towards this past weekend. Your hard work and dedication to learning the Sport of CrossFit, studying it and all that comes with it have paid off. 2 Games athletes in your first year… not too shabby 🙂 I’m proud of you man.

To Emily Carothers and Jeff Germond: Much love. You have both worked so hard for so long. Emily, you are a badass woman, and I can’t wait to see you compete at the Games again. Jeff, your comeback this year was nothing short of a miracle. 7th to 2nd in the last workout. Any other athlete would have cracked open a beer on Friday night, but you kept fighting and it paid off. This weekend reflects the last 5 years: grinding, working, and performing when you have needed to.

To the judges, volunteers and crews working the SC Regional: Many many thanks. The weekend was the best, most organized and most well-run to date, which is saying a lot (the last 2 years have also been phenomenal). Without you it would not have happened!

To Mike Martinez: Another amazing production. You’re the man!
