Coach Estrada has worn many hats this season.
14 months ago, she was competing for Team Central at the 2013 South Central Regionals. 8 months ago, she underwent hip surgery to repair a torn labrum and get herself back on track to health and competition. 2 months ago we were working together to coach Karen Pierce, Carey Kepler and Team CrossFit Central at the South Central Regionals.
Today, she’s hitting lifetime strength PR’s. But more importantly, she’s both the alternate for the 2014 CrossFit Central Games team and the team’s Assistant Coach.
Jessica is, in a word, driven. She is driven to be the best athlete she can be. She is driven to be the best Coach she can be. She is driven in the gym, in life and in her relationships. To me, Jess has been a godsend as she has been my sounding board, advisor, co-coach, confidant and second set of eyes.
As an athlete, she has stepped in at critical moments in training to lead and push Team CC when they needed it the most. As a coach, she stepped up in a big way – as another point of view and opinion when it comes to finding solutions to our athlete’s movement deficiencies, the team’s programming and the direction of the group in general.
I cannot thank her enough for all of her help, time, energy, effort and dedication to this team and this gym over the past year. And if I ever need help picking up a bar, I know she’ll be there for that, too 😉
