November is quickly coming to and end. As November ends, so does Movember — the annual movement with the chief aim of raising both funds and awareness for testicular and prostate cancer.

In my first 29 years of life, I only knew a couple of people who had cancer, and they were mostly “older” individuals. I say older because my parents read this blog and don’t like being called old, but they were mostly around my parents age… or older.

In the last two years, I have had two friends pass from brain cancer, two have been diagnosed with cervical cancer, and one has been diagnosed with breast cancer. All of these people are 31 years young – or younger. Cancer is no longer a disease that waits until you are past your prime to attack. It affects younger and younger people each and every year, and awareness and funds to find a cure are the only ways we currently have to combat it.

We have created a Movember Team this year, and will be supporting our friends at Atomic Athlete as they hold their annual Mustache Throwdown and fundraiser.
