Sometimes you have to completely break down before you can build up.

Below is one of my favorite quotes. I’m sure I’ve posted it before, but it came to mind today during training. The warrior is a warrior, but he is also a leader. He is charged with setting the example, but also with the responsibility and burden of guiding the 99 through the fire and back again. Not unafraid – merely willing to confront and overcome it.

“Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn’t even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back.”
